Indian army storms police station, brutally beats officers, staff in IIOJK

Srinagar: In a shocking display of aggression, the Indian army stormed a police station in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, brutally torturing police officers and personnel who were conducting an investigation into a case of army high-handedness in the district.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, at least four Special Police officers associated with the Special Operation Group (SOG) sustained severe injuries during the army attack at the police station. The injured officers, identified as Rayees Khan, Imtiyaz Malik, and constables Saleem Mushtaq and Zahoor Ahmad, were subsequently taken to Soura hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

The distressing incident unfolded when a police team visited the residence of an Indian army man in Batpora, Kupwara, to conduct an investigation. However, tensions escalated when the Indian army unit in the area objected to the inquiry, leading to their forceful entry into the police station and subsequent assault on the officers and personnel on duty.

The Indian army’s actions have drawn widespread condemnation from human rights groups and political leaders in the territory. They decried the lack of safety for the police force in the face of Indian aggression and have called for an immediate investigation into the incident, urging accountability for those responsible.
