VHP, Bajrang Dal take out rally in Chhattisgarh, demand release of Hindutva terrorists

Raipur: Activists of Hindu extremist outfits, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, staged a rally in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur city, demanding the release of Hindutva terrorists arrested for killing three Muslims men in the violence-hit BJP-ruled state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, hundreds of VHP and Bajrang Dal activists took to the streets, demanding release of those responsible for lynching three Muslim men. The rally, attended by religious leaders and supported by local police personnel, featured Hindutva slogans.

Earlier this month, a group of Hindutva activists affiliated with the VHP and Bajrang Dal chased and attacked three Muslims – Guddu Khan, Chand Mian Khan, and Saddam – near Mahasamund river in Arang, Raipur. The brutal attack resulted in the deaths of two victims on the spot, while the third succumbed to injuries later in hospital. The Muslim trio was transporting buffaloes in a vehicle.

Following the gruesome incident that sparked outraged, Raipur police arrested Naveen Singh Thakur, Mayank Sharma, Harsh Mishra, and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha leader Raja Agarwal in connection with the murders. They have been charged with attempted murder and culpable homicide.

The VHP and Bajrang Dal rally are pushing for the release of these arrested killers, with some religious leaders warning of widespread protests if their demands are not met.
