Naxalites announce strike and Martyrs’ Week in Jharkhand and Bihar

Ranchi: Naxalite operatives fighting for independence from India have launched a new campaign, putting up banners and posters to announce a planned strike and Martyrs’ Week in Jharkhand and Bihar states.

According to Kashmir Media Service, these displays have been prominently placed in Mahali Sai, Chauk, and surrounding areas in the Karaikala region of West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand state.

The Naxalite-Maoist group has declared a general strike in Jharkhand and Bihar for July 25 (Thursday). This strike is aimed at protesting against recent developments, including the arrest of prominent leader Comrade Jaya Hembram. In addition to the strike, the group has announced that they will observe their annual Martyrs’ Week from July 28 to August 3, during which they honor comrades killed by Indian forces and reaffirm their commitment to the struggle for independence.

Dr. Sharma, a regional security analyst, explained the significance of this observance: “This annual commemoration is deeply rooted in Maoist ideology. It is not only a tribute to their fallen members but also a means to galvanize support and reinforce their opposition to what they perceive as oppressive systems.”
