India’s aggressive onslaught poses existential threat to way of life in IIOJK

Srinagar: The Indian government has implemented eight major decisions in the past few weeks, aimed at erasing the cultural and demographic identity of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the decisions include granting domicile status to over 5 lakh Hindu-Sikh families, withdrawing perks and facilities from former chief ministers, transferring Kashmiri IAS officer to relatively less important departments and taking control of universities, Hindu shrines and golf clubs.

The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has also empowered the Lieutenant Governor to evict locals, mostly Muslims, from their properties, dubbing them “encroachers” in their own homeland.

Additionally, the IIOJK Waqf Board and its assets have been seized by the Indian government.

The administration, led by the Lt. Governor, has been authorized to nullify sale deeds and evict locals from properties purchased from Pandits. Local leaders have condemned the Indian government’s actions, calling them a blatant attempt to erase IIOJK’s identity and cultural heritage.

The Indian Home Minister’s silence on these issues has only added to the suspicion surrounding these sweeping changes. As the situation continues to unfold, the people of Jammu and Kashmir remain uncertain about their future, facing an existential threat to their very way of life.
