India cannot weaken Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom: Zahid Safi
Islamabad The leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Zahid Safi, has said that India cannot weaken the Kashmiris’ determination to achieve right to self-determination through use of brute force.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Zahid Safi in a statement in Islamabad said India is increasing the number of its troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to prolong its illegal occupation over the territory, which is condemnable.
He said India has turned the occupied territory into a military garrison as like the Israeli style and is engaged to change the demography of Kashmir.
He said despite the deployment of lakhs of Indian soldiers, India has failed to weaken the freedom spirit of the Kashmiris and will continue their freedom movement till taking it to its logical conclusion.
Zahid Safi said permanent peace in South Asia is impossible without settling the long-pending Kashmir dispute and urged the international community to play its role in resolving the lingering dispute per the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He also appealed to the people of Kashmir to observe August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir in rejection of the Indian BJP government’s illegal and unilateral move of abrogating occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
