APHC-AJK leaders urge global action on IIOJK’s human rights crisis
Islamabad: Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter have appealed to the United Nations, international organizations, and all those who value human rights and human dignity to urgently address the dire situation faced by the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK leaders, including Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Adv Parviaz Ahmed Shah, Altaf Hussain Wani, Mir Tahir Masood, Shameem Shawl, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, and Syed Gulshan Ahmed, in their statements in Islamabad demanded that the international community take immediate action to end Indian atrocities in IIOJK. They emphasized that India’s intransigence is the primary obstacle to the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, with New Delhi persistently violating the civil and political rights of the Kashmiri people.
The leaders expressed deep concern over the widespread human rights abuses by Indian forces in IIOJK, which they described as not only deeply disturbing but also a clear violation of the United Nations Charter. They urged the international community and global human rights organizations to acknowledge the scale of Indian state terrorism and to fulfill their responsibility to protect the fundamental rights of Kashmiris while holding India accountable for its actions in the occupied territory.
Additionally, the APHC-AJK leaders called on the world to stand with the Kashmiris in their rightful struggle for self-determination. They reiterated that India’s oppression and suppression would not deter the Kashmiri people from pursuing their legitimate rights, as guaranteed by the international community.
Chairman of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR), Altaf Hussain Wani, has called for holding human rights violators accountable to establish a culture where respect for human rights prevails above all. He highlighted India’s failure to uphold its international commitments.
Wani urged the global community to recognize the link between lasting peace and the resolution of long-standing conflicts like Kashmir, emphasizing that selective justice and unchecked violations lead to instability and disorder.
