Pakistan to observe August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir: Ashrafi

Lahore: Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, has announced that August 5th will be observed as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir on August 5 emphasizing that there will be no compromise on the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a press conference in Lahore, Ashrafi condemned India’s illegal actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, which he said violated international laws and UN resolutions, and usurped the rights of Kashmiris.

Ashrafi highlighted that Kashmir and Palestine are the two major issues facing the Muslim world, with bloodshed ongoing in both regions. He described Kashmir as a prison where voices are being silenced.

Ashrafi also expressed gratitude for Pakistan, calling it a blessing from Allah, where people can live freely and raise their voices for the rights of Kashmiris and Palestinians.

However, he lamented that Muslims living in India are unable to support their Kashmiri brethren due to the oppressive Modi government.
