Pakistan issues 84 visas to Indian Hindu pilgrims for visit to Katas Raj Temple
Islamabad: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued visas to 84 Indian pilgrims for a visit to the Katas Raj Temple, located in the Chakwal district of Punjab, also known as Qila Katas.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued on Tuesday, Charge d’ Affairs in New Delhi, Saad Ahmed Warraich extended his best wishes to the pilgrims, wishing them a comfortable and pleasant journey.
He further said that Pakistan remained committed to preserving sacred religious places as well as providing necessary facilitation to the visiting pilgrims.
“The issuance of visas is covered under the framework of Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974,” he stated.
Under the 1974 agreement on religious visits between Pakistan and India, thousands of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims visit Pakistan every year to participate in various religious festivals.
