APHC denounces arrests, harassment of Kashmiris amid ongoing crackdown in IIOJK
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed deep concern over the relentless detentions and ongoing harassment of the Kashmiri people during widespread cordon and search operations in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, condemned the actions of the Indian occupation forces, asserting that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have valiantly resisted attempts by nearly one million Indian troops to crush their spirit and resolve for freedom and the right to self-determination.
The statement highlighted the severe plight of illegally detained APHC leaders, activists, and youth, demanding their immediate and unconditional release. The APHC emphasized that there is no legal or moral justification for holding political leaders in prison for extended periods on fabricated charges.
Advocate Minhas underscored that freedom from Indian occupation is a matter of life and death for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated the Kashmiris’ unwavering commitment to carry the struggle for freedom to its logical conclusion, stressing that the will of the Kashmiri people cannot be broken despite the oppressive measures employed by the Indian state.
The APHC’s statement called on the international community to recognize the plight of the Kashmiris and to pressure India to put an end to the widespread human rights violations committed by its troops in IIOJK and adhere to its international obligations, including the holding of a plebiscite as outlined by United Nations resolutions.
