Unresolved Kashmir dispute main cause of tension in region: APHC

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has said that unresolved Kashmir dispute is the main cause of tension in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar called upon the United Nations and the world’s major powers to prevent India from further escalating the volatile situation in the region.

He strongly denounced the domiciles allotted by the New Delhi-controlled Bharatiya Janata Party regime to non-Kashmiris. He said New Delhi is converting occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a settler colony and urged the international community to take notice of the current situation of IIOJK

The spokesman said the ultimate goal of Indian settler colonialism is marginalization and elimination of the indigenous people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and youth could not intimidate the leadership into submission.

The APHC spokesman urged all local political parties and their leadership in IIOJK to get rid of Indian slavery and join the Kashmiri people’s struggle for political justice to avert existential threat to Jammu and Kashmir and its residents.

He said dialogue among all stakeholders, including Pakistan, India and the genuine leadership of the Kashmiris, was the best possible way to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute.
