Indian army-sponsored VDG member commits suicide in IIOJK
Jammu: A member of the Indian army-backed terrorist gang Village Defence Guards has committed suicide in the Reasi district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ashok Kumar, a VDG member, took his own life by shooting himself with his service weapon at his residence in the Theru Pouni area. As per police, Kumar shot himself with his licensed weapon and reportedly died on the spot.
While the exact cause of Kumar’s actions remains unclear, the police indicated that he had been experiencing mental distress for some time. Kumar had been affiliated with the Village Defence Guards for approximately 20 years.
Notably, VDGs, mostly comprising individuals with Hindu extremist affiliations, were established in the hilly regions of Jammu to intimidate and terrorize the Muslim population in these areas.
