Protests in different areas of Maharashtra against anti-Muslim inflammatory statements
Mumbai: Protests were held in different areas of the Indian state of Maharashtra against hateful statements and inflammatory politics against Muslims.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of people staged a protest sit-in in Nagpur.
At Shaheen Bagh Maidan in Farooq Nagar, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat and Reza Nizami Welfare workers staged a protest demanding the arrest of Ramagiri who made insulting statements and Nitish Rane who threatened to kill Muslims by entering the mosque.
They staged a protest sit-in demanding the arrest of Nitish Rane. Thousands of Muslims from Jafar Nagar, Tika, Shanti Nagar, Bhaldarpura, Mominpura, Taj Bagh Nagar and other areas of the city participated in the protest.
On this occasion, the scholars said Muslims will not tolerate insolence in the honour of the Holy Prophet in any case.
They demand of the government to rein in these so-called religious leaders and immediately arrest Ramgiri who is insolent and Nitish Rane who is threatening Muslims.”
Meanwhile, in Nanded, a protest was held in front of the District Collector’s office under the leadership of the district president of the Social Democratic Party of India, Mohammad Ejaz.
The protesters demanded an end to the ongoing politics of hatred against Muslims and also demanded the arrest of insolent Ram Giri and hateful statement maker Nitish Rane.
Meanwhile, in the Sherpur area of Dhule district, the Samajwadi Party delegation submitted a memorandum to the police demanding the arrest of Ramagiri and his supporter MLA Nitish Rane.
Party leader Altaf Ameer Baig warned that if the police did not immediately arrest the two, there would be a state-wide protest.
