Modi’s India unsafe for women: 13-year-old gang raped in UP
Lucknow: Modi’s India has witnessed a disturbing rise of violence against women, with the latest incident involving a 13-year-old girl who was gang-raped in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a 13-year-old Dalit girl was gang-raped by three persons in a moving car in Mathura city. The perpetrators, reported to be Hindu youths, gave the girl an intoxicating drink, took her to a deserted area, and committed the heinous crime before escaping.
Indian media said that the victim is currently undergoing treatment, and police have registered a case, but no arrests have been made yet.
This incident comes on the heels of another shocking case where a trainee doctor was raped and killed in a hospital in Kolkata, sparking widespread protests by doctors across India. The lack of immediate arrests in these cases has only added to the outrage and sense of insecurity among women.
India has gained a troubling reputation as one of the most dangerous countries for women, with its capital, Delhi, often cited as the most unsafe metropolitan city.
