Third Nanga Peer Tourism Festival ends

Bagh: The third Nanga Peer Tourism Festival organized by Alpine Association, Azad Kashmir, in connection with World Tourism Day, has come to an end.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on the last day of the festival, a Kashmir Tourism peace rally was taken out.

The youth of Bees Bagla, Dinah Than and Bees Bagla Alpine Club hiked five kilometers to Nangah Peer Peak and attended the memorial of martyrs of Nangah Peer and hoisted the 200 meters long Pakistani flag.

The closing ceremony of the festival was held at the ground of Bees Bagla, whose special guests were Sports and Culture Minister Asim Sharif Butt and DG Malik Shaukat Hayat, while the President of the Alpine Association, Raja Nisar Ahmed Shaikh, presided over the ceremony.

In their speeches, they congratulated Raja Nisar Ahmed Shaikh, chief organizer of the festival and president of Alpine Club and assured to play a full role for the promotion of tourism and development of the youth in the area.

They also paid tributes to Nanga Peer martyrs and promised to allocate budget for Ghanabad Sports Complex and Bees Bagla Ground.

It should be noted that the festival was organized with the support of Azad Kashmir Tourism Department, Police Department and Special Communication Organisation (SCO).

Hundreds of eminent tourists, hikers and social activists of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir participated in the festival.

The main objective of the festival was to draw people’s attention to the natural beauty of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
