BSF man commit suicide in West Bengal
Kolkata: An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) man has committed suicide in West Bengal state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the BSF soldier, identified as Narendra Singh (33), committed suicide by shooting his service revolver during duty hours at the Jalghar Border Outpost (BOP) in Balurghat Block, South Dinajpur.
The deceased was a resident of Kilpur in Uttar Pradesh and was posted at the 164th Battalion of the BSF in the Jalghar BOP area of Balurghat for an extended period.
Following the incident, Narendra Singh was immediately rushed to District Hospital, Balurghat, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Senior BSF officials arrived at the hospital and handed over the body to his family. The motive behind the suicide remains unclear and his colleagues are left puzzled as to why the personnel took such an extreme step.
An investigation is on, police said.
