NC to introduce Article 370 resolution in upcoming IIOJK assembly session

Srinagar: The National Conference has announced that the Omar Abdullah-led administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) plans to introduce a resolution on Article 370 in the upcoming assembly session.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to media persons in Srinagar Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Spokesperson of the NC and MLA for Zadibal, called the BJP-led Indian government’s abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 unconstitutional. He emphasized the party’s commitment to challenge this move.

Sadiq expressed optimism that opposition parties would unite in support of the resolution on Article 370. Notably, IIOJK LG Manoj Sinha has called a session of the legislative assembly on November 4.

Tanvir Sadiq also revealed plans to revive the historic ‘Darbar Move’ practice, the six-monthly shuttling of top government offices between Srinagar and Jammu. This practice, initiated by the Dogra Maharajas, was abandoned by the IIOJK administration under New Delhi-appointed LG Manoj Sinha.

Reassuring the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Sadiq stated that the National Conference will deliver on its promises. He criticized the BJP for creating divisions and inciting communal tensions for electoral gain, adding, “In contrast, the NC prioritises unity and inclusive representation.”
