Narsinghanand calls for ‘Hindu nation’ without Muslims in latest hate speech

Hardiwar (Uttarakhand): Hindutva leader and priest Yati Narsinghanand has sparked outrage with another anti-Muslim speech, in which he called for the establishment of a Hindu Rashtra (Hindu Nation) that would have no place for mosques, madrasas, or “jihadis.”

According to Kashmir Media Service, Yati Narsinghanand inflammatory comments were made during a recent event in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, and have resurfaced in a video circulating on social media.

The event, organized by Narsinghanand, was marked by multiple hate-filled speeches targeting the Muslim community and calling for violence. In his address, Narsinghanand claimed that the root cause of Hindu suffering was the lack of a Hindu nation and reiterated his demand for a Hindu Rashtra.

Speaking to a gathering of followers, he asserted, “The biggest reason for the misery of us Hindus is that we do not have a country of our own,” while advocating for a nation where, in his words, there would be “no room for a single mosque, a single madrasa, or a single jihadi.” Drawing a controversial comparison with Israel’s protectionist policies for Jews, Narsinghanand declared that such a nation would serve as a global protector of Hindus. Other speakers at the event also joined in, delivering speeches laden with Islamophobic rhetoric.

Reportedly, police have initiated an investigation into the content of the speech. Haridwar SSP Pramendra Dobhal confirmed they have accessed the 15-minute video and are reviewing whether any hate speech violations occurred. He stated, “If hate speech is found, we will take appropriate action,” though no action has been taken so far.

Narsinghanand, notorious for his previous hate speeches and calls for violence against Muslims, has previously been involved in several Islamophobic speeches. In October 2024, he made blasphemous remarks about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and in 2021, he publicly urged Hindus to arm themselves for a “genocide” against Muslims during a so-called ‘Dharam Sansad’ (religious parliament). These so-called Religious Parliaments cannot be dismissed as a fringe event. They are attended by leading Hindu religious figures, right-wing zealots, hardline fundamentalist fascists and Hindutva organisations.

Despite multiple FIRs being filed against him, authorities have faced criticism for failing to take significant action against Narsinghanand, with many accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of tacitly encouraging such divisive and violent rhetoric from hardline Hindu nationalists.
