Pasban-e-Hurriyat launches Right to Self-Determination Campaign from Neelum Valley
Muzaffarabad: Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has launched the Right to Self-Determination Campaign from Neelum district in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally saw a large participation from citizens, including women and children. The participants carried banners and placards demanding the right to self-determination for IOJK and condemning Indian military war crimes in occupied territory.
The rally was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim, District President Sharafat Hussain Malik, and the Head of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Women’s Wing Mehnaz Qureshi.
Other participants included Shafiq Ahmed, Patron of the Neelum Traders Association, President Abdul Rashid Awan, Councillor Raja Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Youth Leader Raja Owais Ahmed Khan, Advocate Kashif Iftikhar Malik, Kashmir United Movement leader Abdul Hai, Additional Assistant Commissioner Basharat Chaudhary. They emphasized the campaign’s goal of urging the United Nations to implement the resolutions passed on January 5, 1949, and the right to self-determination for Jammu and Kashmir.
The speakers at the rally asserted that it is the constitutional responsibility of the United Nations Security Council to pressure India to allow a free, fair, and impartial resolution of the Kashmir issue, in accordance with its resolutions passed regarding Jammu and Kashmir. They also stated that India is attempting to suppress the voices of Kashmiris through military force. The participants stressed that it is now time for the international community to play a role in resolving the Kashmir issue for the establishment of lasting peace in South Asia.
