Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam condoles demise of Prof Nazir Ahmed Gulkar in Srinagar
Srinagar: Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam, Srinagar, has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Kashmir’s renowned educationist, and its former executive member and close associate of the Mirwaiz family, Professor Nazir Ahmad Gilkar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in its condolence statement the institution, on behalf of its president, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, executive members, staff, teachers and students, paid glowing tribute to the late Professor Gilkar for his selfless services in the field of education in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly towards the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam.
The statement said that the late professor shared a profound and sincere scholarly relationship with the former Anjuman president, Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq. He was deeply attached to the mission and educational vision of Shaheed-e-Millat, a relationship that continued with the current president of the association, it said.
The Anjuman described Professor Gilkar’s demise as a great loss for the academic and literary circles, particularly for the institution. It prayed to Almighty Allah for patience and solace for his daughters, family and loved ones and for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid a heartfelt tribute to the late scholar and eloquent preacher, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Yaseen Hamdani, on his death anniversary.
He commended the deceased leader for his four decades of religious, missionary and community services, saying his contributions to dawah would always be remembered.
