Muslim man lynched in UP over ‘cow slaughter’; police file case against victim
Moradabad: A 29-year-old Muslim man, Shahe Din, was lynched by cow vigilantes in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, over allegations of cow slaughter.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a video of the attack shows a mob brutally assaulting the victim with batons and rods, as bystanders incite violence.
Despite being rushed to a hospital, Shahe Din succumbed to his injuries.
In order to save culprits from punishment, police have registered FIRs against unidentified men and against the deceased for alleged cow slaughter.
The police action drew criticism from activists and political leaders for bias and inaction.
