India dismisses three more Kashmiri Muslim employees in IIOJK

Srinagar,: The administration led by New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has dismissed three more Kashmiri Muslim government employees.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the dismissed individuals include police constable Firdous Ahmad Bhat, teacher Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, and forest department orderly Nisar Ahmad Khan. The employees are currently lodged in different jails under false charges of supporting pro-freedom activities in IIOJK.

The terminations were carried out under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian constitution, which allows for the dismissal of government employees without the need for a formal inquiry. This legal provision has been increasingly invoked since the abrogation of the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019. The BJP-led Indian government has since dismissed dozens of Kashmiri Muslim employees, citing various unsubstantiated reasons.

New Delhi’s intensified dismissal of Kashmiri Muslim employees is part of a broader strategy that critics argue seeks to erode IIOJK’s Muslim identity and undermine the local economy. These actions align with the BJP’s Hindutva agenda, aimed at replacing local Muslim employees with Indian Hindu nationals, further entrenching the demographic and political changes imposed in the territory.
