Mirwaiz urges all IIOJK communities to unite against existential threat
Srinagar: Senior All Parries Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has warned that Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is facing an existential threat in view of the ongoing anti-Kashmiris’ measures in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing an event in Badgam counted the snatching of IIOJK’s special status along with statehood, turning the territory into a Union Territory, confiscation of land, properties and identity as some these measures. He urged all communities to unite against these threats.
He urged all the Kashmiri communities including Pandits and Siksh to unite against these threats.
Questioning the Modi government’s claims of normalcy in Kashmir, the Mirwaiz countered the narrative by mentioning frequent lockdown of the historic Jama Masjid and the ban on Shab-e-Barat prayers for the sixth consecutive year, along with his recurring house arrests.
The Mirwaiz rejected any proposal for a separate homeland for Pandits. He emphasized the need for Kashmiri Pandits to live together with Muslims in dignity.
