Muslim student found dead at AMU hostel
Aligarh: A Muslim student was found dead at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in the Uttar Pradesh state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased, identified as Mohammad Shakir, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, was found dead in the Mumtaz Hostel in Aftab Hall. He was pursuing a master’s degree in theology.
Officials stated that laborers, who had arrived for road work at the hostel, discovered the body hanging from a rope and promptly informed the administration. Following this, the police and the AMU proctorial team arrived at the scene.
“The entire matter is being investigated. The family members of the student have been informed. Action will be taken after the investigation,” stated Wasim Ali, the proctor of the university.
