Muslim brothers brutally attacked, forced to chant Hindu slogans in UP
Lucknow: In yet another chilling display of anti-Muslim violence in India, two Muslim brothers in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi district were brutally attacked by Hindutva goons.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim brothers have been identified as Niyaz Ahmed and Khurshid Ahmed, natives of Dindayalpur village. The attackers had ostensibly arrived in Dindayalpur to collect Holi donations but turned violent, beating the brothers with sharp weapons and sticks, and forcing them to chant the Hindu slogan “Jai Shri Ram.”
The assault began when Niyaz Ahmed, who had been at a mosque offering Taraweeh prayers, returned home to find the group demanding donations. A brief altercation ensued, and he was attacked from behind. The group hurled religious slurs at him before striking him on the head, shoulder, and back, causing him to lose consciousness.
His younger brother, Khurshid, intervened to help, but he too was beaten severely, suffering injuries to his head and shoulder. Both brothers were forced to chant “Jai Shri Ram,” and further violence followed when they refused. The attackers, initially numbering around a dozen, were later joined by others.
This attack has ignited outrage on social media, exposing the deep-seated Islamophobia in Modi’s India. Critics have slammed local authorities for their silence, pointing out the hypocrisy of advising Muslims to “stay indoors” during Holi, while Hindu extremists invade their homes to unleash terror.
