APHC-AJK remembers Mirwaiz Yusuf Shah on death anniversary

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter held a meeting to mark the 58th death anniversary of Mufassir-e-Quran and former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Yusuf Shah.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speakers at the gathering paid glowing tributes to Mirwaiz Yusuf Shah, highlighting his unparalleled contributions to Kashmir’s freedom struggle and religious leadership. They emphasized that he was not only a great religious scholar but also a steadfast political leader who guided the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir during a critical period in history.

The speakers noted that the Mirwaiz family of Srinagar has long been a center for the propagation of Islam in the region. His translation and interpretation of the Holy Quran in the Kashmiri language is a monumental achievement that will be remembered for generations.
