Hindutva organizations call for economic, social boycott of Muslims across India
New Delhi: RSS-BJP-backed Hindutva organizations across India have called for the economic and social boycott of Muslims in an effort to suppress their livelihood and that of other minorities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the economic and social boycott of Muslims by extremist Hindus has been ongoing for some time. False propaganda is being spread on social media against Muslim shopkeepers and hotel owners. Indian media is promoting this narrative, accusing Muslim shopkeepers of mixing beef, pork, and filth into their food. This is a new tactic to instigate the boycott of Muslims.
Following the negative propaganda, local Hindu nationalist organizations and politicians have demanded that Muslims be denied shops on rent. Through this malicious propaganda, Muslims are being deprived of their livelihoods and driven into unemployment. Since Narendra Modi came to power in India, the livelihoods of Muslims have come under attack.
In Uttar Pradesh, a systematic conspiracy has been initiated, with an order issued requiring shops to be opened with proper names. The aim of this campaign is to convince Hindus not to purchase anything from Muslim-owned shops. Hindu religious leaders are also involved in this economic boycott campaign. Swami Yeshwant Maharaj, a Hindutva leader, has strongly supported this movement.
This campaign has spread across several Indian states like Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. In these states, small Muslim shopkeepers and vegetable vendors are facing severe challenges. In Uttar Pradesh, many slaughterhouses have been declared illegal and shut down. KMS-19U
