13th July 1931 martyrs primarily strengthened freedom movement: Ali Raza Syed

Brussels: The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed, has said the martyrs of 13th July 1931 have fundamentally strengthened the Kashmir freedom movement and provided great spirit to the Kashmiri freedom lovers.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels said the martyrs of July 1931 made a great history in the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir, and their sacrifices cannot be forgotten.
It is important to mention that on 13th July 1931, the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 unarmed Kashmiris, one after another, outside Central Jail in Srinagar during the court proceedings against Abdul Qadeer, who had urged the people to defy the despotic Dogra rule. At the time of Namaz-e-Zuhr, a young man started calling Azaan and was shot dead by the Dogra soldiers. Another youth took his place and he too was martyred by the troops. Thus, 22 youth sacrificed their lives till the completion of Azaan.
He said atrocities committed by the Indian forces against the oppressed Kashmiris is rapidly going on and has especially increased since the Indian Modi regime revoked special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019.
Ali Raza Syed urged India to withdraw its forces, stop its state terrorism and other human rights violations in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He also called for unconditional release of all Kashmiri prisoners, including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
He also urged the international community to play its role for a peaceful resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
