Kashmir living under constant fear due to unrelenting state terrorism: APHC
Srinagar: The oppressed and caged people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are living under constant fear due to unrelenting state terrorism, including house raids and massive cordon-and-search operations carried out by Indian forces across the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India has turned entire occupied Jammu and Kashmir into an abattoir, where Indian forces and agencies are spilling the blood of innocent Kashmiris with impunity. He stated that these actions are intended to punish Kashmiris for resisting India’s illegal occupation of their homeland.
He added that the ongoing house raids, confiscation of properties and household goods, and the arrest of youth under false charges clearly illustrate that the BJP regime—headed by the highly communal and corrupt Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, appointed by the Indian government—is systematically perpetrating atrocities on the Kashmiri people.
The atmosphere of fear, fueled by black laws, persists in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipore, Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Poonch, Rajouri, Samba, Doda, Kishtwar, and Kathua districts. Residents of these areas reported that personnel from the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG) routinely lay siege to neighbourhoods, raid homes, and conduct searches, turning everyday life into a nightmare. Locals told the media that these forces barge into residential houses, harass residents, and vandalize property on a daily basis.
The APHC spokesman emphasized that over one million Indian forces’ personnel have effectively been given a license to torture, kill, and detain Kashmiris without accountability.
He said that India’s Hindutva-driven regime is attempting to impose its ideology and culture on occupied Kashmir, but the people of Kashmir will resist such efforts tooth and nail. He affirmed that the Kashmiris’ passion for freedom is unbreakable and they will never accept Indian domination. He vowed that the mission of the martyrs will be carried to its logical conclusion, and the day is not far when the people of Kashmir will achieve freedom from Indian occupation.
