Sardar Ayaz Sadiq calls for peaceful resolution of Kashmir and Palestine disputes
Geneva: Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has emphasized the peaceful resolution of longstanding global disputes, including Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq made these remarks while addressing the plenary session of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva stated that the resolution of protracted conflicts should not be viewed merely as a legal obligation but as a strategic necessity.
He stressed the need to uphold human-centric politics and end the application of double standards in international affairs to safeguard global peace and justice.
He pointed out that the world once again stands at a critical crossroads, confronting multiple interlinked crises that pose serious threats to international peace and security, economic stability, sustainable development, and the integrity of the multilateral system.
The Speaker also called for immediate measures to make the global financial system more equitable and development-oriented.
He welcomed the recent unanimous adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2788, under Pakistan’s presidency, which focuses on strengthening mechanisms for the peaceful settlement of disputes.
Highlighting the need to reform the United Nations system, particularly the Security Council, he underscored that it must be made more democratic, effective, transparent, and accountable to all member states.
