Violent cordon and search operation continues in Kishtwar

Srinagar : Indian forces’ personnel continued military cordon and search operations in Kulgam and Kishtwar districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces continued the military operation on the 12th day in Akhal and other areas of the Kulgam district. All the exit and enter points are sealed and nobody is allowed to enter the district. The other adjoining areas of the district are also being sealed and searched.
The operation, which began last Thursday, July 31, has now entered its 12th day and has involved intermittent gunfights.
It is reported that 10,000 Indian forces of elite PARA forces, Rashtriya Rifles units, SOG, and CRPF deployed advanced military assets, including Rudra attack helicopters, drones, and Para Commandos. All entry and exit points of the district and adjoining areas have been sealed off, with strict restrictions on the movement of civilians.
The Pir Panchal range is still closed for visitors and police are not allowing people to move towards the forest area.
Now new information has emerged that the Indian Army has been constructing permanent pickets in these areas to restrict mujahideen’s activities.
These pickets have been built up in the whole Pir Panchal mountainous range in areas like Tosamaidan, Doodhpathri, Yousmarg, central Kashmir and Akhal, Aharbal and then in Kokernag areas of South Kashmir.
These pickets will be equipped with the latest gadgetry which includes GPS monitoring, drones and other communication devices. They will be tracking any movement inside the forest area with particular focus on supply chain, and its breakdown.
On the other hand, the operation continued by Indian forces in Dool area of Kishtwar district, with additional deployment of forces made in the area to reinforce the cordon, reports said.
Indian police officials claimed that an encounter broke out between the militants and the Indian forces in the Gool Kisthwar on Sunday. The encounter broke out when the Indian Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Nagalo yesterday based on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The search has been expanded in the area, the reports said.
