Mirwaiz Umar grieved over loss of lives in Jammu floods

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of human lives caused by continuous rains and flash floods in Katra and several other areas of Jammu.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant them patience and strength to bear the irreparable loss.

He said it was deeply unfortunate that despite prior weather warnings and alerts, vulnerable families living in unsafe areas were not shifted to secure places. Issuing warnings alone, he stressed, is not enough; timely identification and evacuation of people living in danger-prone regions is essential.

Mirwaiz emphasized that authorities need to act with foresight to prevent the recurring loss of precious lives. He urged the administration to provide immediate relief to the affected families and adopt long-term preventive measures to ensure that people are protected from such natural disasters in the future.KMS-15U
