SIA raids several houses with impunity under black laws in IIOJK
Srinagar: The New Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency (SIA) has raided several houses in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the SIA, along with Indian police personnel, carried out raids under black laws in Awantipora and Bijbehara areas of Pulwama and Islamabad districts.
The raids were conducted in connection with a case related to the escape of freedom activist Amin Baba, who has gone underground to save himself from black laws and Indian state terrorism.
Indian forces, including army, paramilitary, police and agencies, enjoy the cover of the black law Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in occupied Kashmir. These draconian laws enforced by the Indian government have empowered its forces to use brutal force against innocent Kashmiris with impunity to suppress their demand for freedom.
Thousands of Kashmiris are languishing in Indian prisons and IIOJK jails under these black laws, while nearly one lakh Kashmiris have been targeted with bullets, pellets, PAVA and teargas shells by Indian forces since 1989 in the territory.
Human rights groups have consistently raised their voice against these black laws, while civil society has also urged the world community to speak up for Kashmiris’ rights and compel India to restore all their basic human rights.
