IIOJK being run by two govts, says Deputy CM Choudhary
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary has said the territory is effectively being run by “two governments” – one elected by the people and another imposed on them by the Modi-led Indian regime.
According to Kashmir Media Service, talking to reporters in Srinagar, Choudhary maintained that his party needed a free hand to govern and fulfil its manifesto commitments. “Give us a free hand and then see where we will take Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, expressing hope that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would honour his commitments, including the restoration of full statehood.
Choudhary also called for a comprehensive financial package to address devastation caused by floods and disruptions along the Srinagar-Jammu highway. “We still hope Prime Minister Modi will keep his promise and restore statehood. We also expect a mega flood package to help rebuild lives,” he added.
He launched a direct attack on the BJP and PDP, saying the two parties had maintained a political “setting” for years that benefited them but harmed ordinary people. “BJP and PDP are like brothers. They fooled the people in the past, but now they cannot befool the public anymore,” Choudhary remarked.
