Statehood restoration to reveal how committed Indian govt is to democracy, development in IIOJK: Sagar

Srinagar: The National Conference in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has said that the promised restoration of statehood will reveal how committed the Indian government is to democracy, dignity and development in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar in a statement issued in Srinagar said that statehood is not merely a constitutional arrangement but the rightful empowerment of the people through their elected representatives.
He asserted that the restoration of statehood will enhance administrative efficiency and policy responsiveness. He said an empowered legislature and elected government will be better equipped to address region-specific concerns, including infrastructure development, employment generation, industrial growth, tourism, horticulture and youth welfare.
He further said IIOJK has immense untapped potential and that statehood would enable policies aligned with local socio-economic realities, accelerating development and encouraging investment.
He reiterated that timely restoration of statehood would usher in a new era of peace, stability, and inclusive development in the region.
