IIOJK authorities seize another Kashmiri family’s home in Srinagar

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, New Delhi-imposed administration led by Lieutenant Governor has seized the property of yet another Kashmiri family in Srinagar district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, police acting of the directives of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, confiscated a three-storey residential house built on 15 marlas of land in the HMT area of Srinagar. The property, valued at around Rs 2 crore, is registered in the name of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh. The seizure was carried out under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The occupation authorities alleged that Sheikh’s son, Sajad Ahmad, also known as Sajad Gul, was using online platforms to spread anti-India content and to “promote militant narratives”.

It is noteworthy that since the revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, the Modi regime has intensified its colonial agenda in the territory. Confiscation of homes, businesses, and land under various pretexts has become a systematic tool of repression. Hundreds of such properties have already been seized, with the underlying aim of terrorizing the local population, crippling them economically, and facilitating demographic change by reallocating these assets to non-local Hindus.
