Tensions rise after police raid on UKLF leader’s house in Chandel district

Imphal: Tensions have flared in the Chandel district of the restive Indian state of Manipur after the police raided the house of a United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) leader.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the UKLF in a statement strongly condemned the raid and said it is a serious act and if such acts continue, it will not remain a silent spectator.

The organisation said it is fully adhering to the ‘SOO’ agreement but the police have committed a serious violation of the agreement by raiding the house of a UKLF leader

Meanwhile, the police, while explaining their stance regarding the raid, said that the operation was not against the UKLF but rather a mission to arrest a drug lord. However, he managed to escape.
