Pakistan will respond decisively to any Indian provocation: Field Marshal Asim Munir
Islamabad will continue to support Kashmiris’ freedom struggle: Army Chief

Abbottabad, Kakul: Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan has demonstrated its military and defensive resolve in the Marka-i-Haq, warning India’s military leadership that a nuclear environment leaves no room for war between the two countries. He vowed that Pakistan will not be cowed by provocative rhetoric and pledged a decisive response to any aggression far beyond the enemy’s expectations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, Field Marshal Asim Munir said, “I advise and firmly caution India’s military leadership that there is no space for war in a nuclearised environment. Hecalled for the resolution of core issues on the basis of equality, mutual respect and international norms.
Field Marshal Asim Munir demanded an end to state‑sponsored terror, repression and atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He asked how long the Kashmiri people must endure oppression and be denied the right to self‑determination, and reiterated that Pakistan will continue its political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle until the dispute is resolved in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Recalling Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, he said the nation stood “like steel” with the armed forces. He noted that India had leveled baseless charges against Pakistan, but said national unity and public support enabled successful defence of the country’s borders. He said Pakistan secured a clear victory against a numerically superior foe during the operation and received international recognition for its performance.
Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan’s multi‑domain capabilities during the conflict. “Downing advanced […] Rafales, targeting multiple bases including S-400s, and showcasing multi-domain warfare capabilities, Pakistan has displayed its capabilities and will to defend,” COAS Munir asserted.
Paying tribute to the fallen, he expressed gratitude to martyrs and their families, calling their sacrifices the foundation of the country’s freedom. He warned that adversaries seek to sow discord between the people and the armed forces, but affirmed that Pakistan’s defence doctrine rests on credible deterrence and perpetual preparedness across all domains. He cautioned that, in the event of conflict, Pakistan’s military and economic response would inflict consequences far exceeding the enemy’s expectations and would render India’s geographic-security assumptions obsolete.
Addressing India directly, he urged the Indian military leadership to recognise that “in a nuclear environment there is no room for war” and called for the resolution of core issues on the basis of equality, mutual respect and international norms.
He also condemned cross‑border terrorism and said Pakistan would take decisive action against any proxies — including those linked to Afghan Taliban elements — that launch attacks from or through Pakistani territory.
On Palestine, Field Marshal Munir denounced Israeli aggression, mass displacement and mass killings of civilians, and credited Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts with helping advance recent ceasefire and humanitarian initiatives in Gaza. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for a two‑state solution based on pre‑1967 borders with East Jerusalem as Palestine’s capital, and urged sustained humanitarian aid and reconstruction for Gaza.
Concluding his remarks, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to diplomatic, economic and military progress and pledged that the armed forces — “in uniform” — will remain prepared to defend the nation’s ideological and territorial integrity. Field Marshal Munir, referencing Surah As-Saff of the Qur’an, cited the verse, “Surely Allah loves those who fight in His cause in solid ranks as if they were one concrete structure.” He also invoked Quaid‑e‑Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s 1948 exhortation to serve and sacrifice for the state to make Pakistan the most glorious and sovereign nation in the world. He assured that Pakistan’s flag would remain high because its defenders, the Pakistani people, will never fail.
