Primary goal of establishing AJK is to free occupied Kashmir from Indian occupation: Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq

Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the true objective of establishing an Azad government will be realized when the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir are freed from Indian oppression and forcible occupation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at the 78th Foundation Day ceremony of AJK in Muzaffarabad, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq said it was a moment of collective gratitude that we are celebrating the foundation day this year with greater pride than ever before. He said that Pakistan’s historic success in Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos has infused fresh spirit into the Kashmir freedom struggle. He said the operation’s victory has brought joy to Kashmiris on both sides of the ceasefire line.
He noted that AJK was liberated after a great struggle and unmatched sacrifices by their forefathers, who resisted Indian aggression and overthrew the brutal Dogra regime. He recalled the events of 1947, when Congress leaders conspired with Maharaja Hari Singh to seize the Muslim-majority state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Maharaja, he said, began disarming Muslims and distributing weapons among non-Muslims, forcing Kashmiris to launch an armed resistance in June 1947. “On October 17, India dispatched Patiala forces into the state, and the people fought both Dogra and Indian troops”, he remarked.
The AJK premier also paid tribute to the tribal mujahideen who, he said, came to the aid of Kashmiris after their request. The AJK premier thanked Pakistani people for welcoming the Kashmiri refugees who were driven out and forced to migrate after the November 1947 massacre in Jammu. “Before 1947, Azad Kashmir was among the most backward regions, but today it is progressing in all sectors”, he said , adding that at the time of independence, there was only one inter-college; today, there are six public universities and three medical colleges. He said people in Azad Kashmir fully enjoy their rights, saying that unlike IIOJK there were no political prisoners in AJK.
Paying rich tributes to Pakistan’s armed forces, the AJK PM said they stand as true protectors who defend the lives, property, and dignity of people in Azad Kashmir. He said Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos has written new chapters in modern military history, as the Pakistan army delivered a crushing defeat to an enemy country that is many times bigger in size and resources. This success, he added, destroyed India’s arrogance and enhanced Pakistan’s international standing. He credited Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir for his strategic and decisive leadership.
Referring to the situation in IIOJK, he said thousands of youth have been martyred, and many Hurriyat leaders remain behind bars in the occupied territory. Despite repression, India has failed to crush Kashmiris’ spirit of freedom. He warned that India is altering the demographic composition of the territory to reduce the Muslim majority.
Expressing solidarity with the people of IIOJK, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq assured that his government would utilize all available resources for their liberation. He expressed optimism that the day is not far when the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir will achieve their cherished goal and the dream of completing Pakistan will be materialized.
