Kashmiri doctor arrested in UP
Saharanpur: Indian police arrested a Kashmiri doctor in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Utter Pradesh state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a doctor, identified as Dr Adil Ahmed, working at a private hospital in Saharanpur city of the state, was arrested on a fake case of putting up posters in support of a pro-freedom group in Srinagar.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Vyom Bindal said Dr Adil Ahmed, a resident of south Kashmir of IIOJK, was taken into custody by the Srinagar police in connection with a case registered there.
He added that several people from IIOJK are currently employed at private nursing homes and hospitals in Saharanpur, and the local intelligence unit has been put on alert to verify their backgrounds.
