Muslim youth seriously injured in unprovoked mob attack in Lucknow

Lucknow: A 24-year-old Muslim youth was brutally assaulted by a Hindutva group in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, Hafiz Mohammad Kaif, said he was nearing his home when a group of around seven men surrounded him, abused him, hurled religious and caste-based slurs, and assaulted him.
The attack took place while Kaif was returning home from a gym in the Husain Ganj police station area of Lucknow city. Kaif said he tried to escape by taking shelter inside a nearby house. However, he alleged that the attackers followed him inside and continued beating him.“They attacked me with bricks and hit me using the metal bracelets on their wrists. My eye was badly bruised, and I needed eight stitches on my head,” Kaif told the media.
In his complaint, Kaif said he was attacked without any provocation near his home, leaving him grievously injured.Doctors treating Kaif said his condition is stable.
Meanwhile, an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) delegation headed by the party’s Lucknow president, Mohammad Tabish Beg, met Kaif’s family members, expressed solidarity with them and assured them of legal support in seeking justice.Although an FIR has been lodged, Kaif’s family said no arrests have been made so far. The family has appealed to the police to conduct a fair investigation, arrest those responsible, and ensure the safety of the victim and his relatives.
