IIOJK authorities seize ancestral property of Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh in Pulwama

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the New Delhi-imposed administration under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has seized the ancestral property of Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh in the Pampore area of Pulwama district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police acting directly on the orders of LG Manoj Sinha confiscated the property, which included a residential house and 04 marlas of land, in Namblabal, Pampore.
IIOJK authorities claimed the property seizure was executed under the orders of the Additional Sessions Court of Pulwama. However, such judicial directives are often obtained from pliant courts in the occupied territory to provide a façade of legality for politically motivated actions.
Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh, currently residing in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, is affiliated with Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League. He was compelled to migrate to AJK after facing sustained repression and threats from Indian forces in the occupied territory. Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh is the younger brother of senior APHC leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who was martyred by Indian troops in August 2008 in the Uri area of Baramulla district. Sheikh Aziz was leading a mammoth march to AJK against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley imposed by Hindutva organizations in Jammu.
