IIOJK Congress chief warns against communalizing Red Fort blast, slams BJP govt’s security failures
Jammu: President of the Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Tariq Hamid Karra, has cautioned against communalising the deadly explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, while holding the BJP-led Indian government responsible for serious security lapses.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to media persons in Jammu, Karra said the attack must be denounced “in the strongest words,” but warned that generalising it with a particular community would be a grave mistake. “We condemn it in the strongest words. Do not generalise it. There are good and bad people in every community,” he said.
Karra questioned the BJP-led Indian government’s claims on eliminating “terrorism” post the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A. “This incident happened right under your nose in Delhi. Who is responsible?” he asked.
He demanded answers from New Delhi, saying the attack had exposed the government’s failure to ensure safety even in the capital.
The IIOJK Congress chief’s remarks come following a recent explosion in a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening, killing 13 people and injuring several others. Indian police have accused a Kashmiri doctor, Umar Nabi, of carrying out the attack, claiming he also died in the explosion.
