Field Marshal Asim Munir vows strong response to aggressors
Islamabad: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has said that any aggressors will be met with the same decisive response as was given in May.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, speaking informally to the media at a luncheon hosted by King Abdullah II of Jordan at the President’s House in Islamabad, said that Allah Almighty granted Pakistan victory in the conflict against India.
“Pakistan is a peace-loving nation but will respond firmly to any attempt to impose war, acting in accordance with Allah’s command and fulfilling his duties,” he added.
The Field Marshal added that when Muslims place their trust in Allah, even seemingly insignificant actions can turn into powerful outcomes against their enemies, referencing the Battle of Uhud and quoting Quranic verses.
Meanwhile, a lengthy discussion also took place between President Asif Ali Zardari and the Field Marshal.
The event was attended by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto, the British High Commissioner, and the US Ambassador.
