India-Israel nexus serious threat to entire Muslim Ummah: Turabi

Istanbul: Former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turabi has said that the current situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India’s expansionist ambitions and the India-Israel nexus have become a serious threat not only to Pakistan but also to the entire Muslim Ummah.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdul Rashid Turabi addressing the international conference on the Palestine issue in Istanbul, said the open alliance of India and Israel in the recent struggle and the unilateral inclination of the Modi government against the Palestinians is a sign of awakening for the entire Muslim Ummah. He made it clear that Kashmir and Pakistan stand firmly behind the people of Palestine in every difficult moment.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has united all the national leaders and reiterated Pakistan’s principled policy. He said ‘Million marches’ across the country, a unanimous resolution of the parliament, a common stance of the political and military leadership and public sentiment have further strengthened Pakistan’s clear and strong position at the global level.

He said diplomatic pressure on Pakistan certainly increased after the recognition of Israel by the Arab and Gulf countries, but due to the public opinion and the strong stance of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan is steadfast in its historical policy. He said millions of people attended the public gathering of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in Lahore on November 21, 22 and 23, which is a practical proof of a strong expression of patriotism and solidarity for Palestine and Kashmir.

Abdul Rashid Turabi said in the international conference held on this occasion, more than fifty international delegates passed a joint resolution in favour of Palestine and Kashmir, which included a demand for adopting a common strategy in the light of UN resolutions, recognizing Palestine as an independent state and providing practical assistance.

Furthermore, he added, over one hundred and twenty delegates from forty-five countries, representing all continents, adopted the Lahore Declaration, which outlined the contours of an alternative world order and presented a comprehensive plan of action for a just resolution of the Palestinian and Kashmir disputes.

The global conference held in Istanbul was attended by over three hundred delegates from over sixty countries, whose presence further highlights the importance of global consensus on this most important issue, he maintained.

He also conveyed the greetings and message of complete solidarity of the mujahideen of Kashmir, the Hurriyat leadership, Pakistan and the movement leadership of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to the international delegates.
