India using brutal tactics to erase Kashmiri Muslims’ culture and identity: Rashid Turabi
Islamabad: Former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Adviser to the Ameer JI Pakistan on Kashmir Affairs, Abdul Rashid Turabi, has stated that India is employing brutal tactics to erase the culture and identity of Kashmiri Muslims in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdul Rashid Turabi made these remarks during his visit to Qatar, where he met with various personalities and delegations. During his visit, he held a detailed meeting with Dr. Ali Mohiuddin Qaradaghi, the President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and praised his efforts regarding the Palestinian and Kashmiri issues. He commended Dr. Qaradaghi’s consistent support for the Kashmiri Muslims’ right to self-determination.
Abdul Rashid Turabi also briefed Dr. Qaradaghi on the latest situation in IIOJK, highlighting that India is using various tactics to suppress the culture and identity of Kashmiri Muslims. He emphasized that India’s intentions include dismantling organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami and other pro-freedom groups in the disputed territory. In addition to imposing a ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, India has confiscated its affiliated institutions and assets, which continue to be seized.
He further stated that thousands of Jamaat-e-Islami members, including the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami IIOJK, political prisoners, along with thousands of civilians are currently imprisoned in different jails in IIOJK and India.
