Srinagar: The skies over Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) remained unusually quiet over the past week as IndiGo’s operational breakdown stranded passengers across the territory, with over 85 flights cancelled between December 3 and 12 at Srinagar and Jammu airports.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Srinagar Airport saw more than 55 cancellations in 10 days. December 5 recorded the highest disruptions with 16 flights scrapped, while Jammu Airport reported a total of 26 cancellations over the same period, including 11 flights on December 5 alone, Airports Authority of India (AAI) data said.

Javed Anjum, Director of Srinagar Airport, in a media interview, said that operations are expected to improve after December 15.

In response to the crisis, IndiGo announced that it has appointed Chief Aviation Advisors LLC, led by veteran aviation expert Captain John Illson, to conduct an independent review of the operational disruption.
