NC MLA decries brutal demolition drive as Budgam brick kiln owners targeted
Objection by ruling party MLA exposes deepening governance crisis in IIOJK

Srinagar: National Conference MLA from Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar, has levelled serious allegations against the occupation over the ongoing demolition drive carried out against brick kilns in Budgam district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the MLA said the authorities were acting arbitrarily during the demolition operation and questioned the manner in which brick kilns were targeted. He expressed concern over the impact of the drive on local livelihoods, stating that such actions were causing economic distress to already suffering residents.
Ali Mohammad Dar sought accountability from the department involved, stressing that any action must be carried out in a transparent and lawful manner. He also called for a review of the demolition process to ensure that justice is not denied to those who depend on brick kilns for their survival.
The incident has once again highlighted the gravity of the situation, as even local representatives who are part of the ruling setup are raising objections to unilateral actions taken by the occupation authorities without consultation, further exposing the deepening governance crisis in the occupied territory.
