India’s disinformation campaign exposed as Pakistan’s global standing rises

Masood Khan highlights strategic gains, warns against complacency

Islamabad: Former Pakistani Ambassador to the United States, China, and the United Nations, Sardar Masood Khan, said India’s renewed disinformation campaign reflects strategic insecurity as Pakistan emerges as a key geopolitical pivot for the U.S., China, and Russia.

According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing the role of state-linked Indian media in spreading false narratives, he described India’s propaganda as “systemic, state-sponsored, and ideologically driven,” aimed at maligning Pakistan.

Ambassador Khan noted that India’s misinformation efforts, including those propagated by RT India and other sponsored outlets, have repeatedly collapsed under scrutiny. He said 2025 marks a breakthrough year for Pakistan’s diplomacy, boosted by its responsible conduct during and after the May 2025 conflict with India, which enhanced Islamabad’s credibility in major global capitals.

He highlighted tangible diplomatic and security gains, including the U.S. approval of a $686 million F-16 upgrade package, earlier sustainment approvals in 2022 and 2025, and Pakistan’s trusted role in sensitive mediatory efforts, such as U.S.–Iran backchannel diplomacy and multilateral initiatives for a Gaza ceasefire.

Ambassador Khan also pointed to economic and technological breakthroughs, citing agreements on crypto tokenisation of sovereign assets, partnerships with Binance, U.S. investments in critical minerals, and collaborations in renewables and agriculture. “These are concrete indicators of Pakistan’s reintegration into global economic and strategic frameworks,” he said.

Commenting on India, he said its propaganda stems from strategic jealousy and internal weakness. “India’s military, communications credibility, and diplomatic standing suffered setbacks after the May war, and its Hindutva-driven extremism is eroding secularism and dividing society,” he warned.

Concluding, Ambassador Khan urged Pakistan to remain vigilant. “India’s lies have been exposed, and Pakistan’s stature has risen—but this is a moment for consolidation, vigilance, and hard decisions to fully realise Pakistan’s strategic potential,” he said.
