India asks states to monitor pro-Iran preachers, social media users

New Delhi: The Indian Home Ministry has asked states to keep an eye on pro-Iran radical preachers and their statements, following the Israel-US attack on Iran.

According to Kashmir Media Service, security has been increased at US and Israel diplomatic missions. Shia mourners protested in India over Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s martyrdom.

Observers believe the move endorses speculation of India’s involvement in the strikes, given PM Narendra Modi’s recent Israel visit.

The Congress party has already criticized Modi, saying his visit gave tacit approval for the strikes. Modi’s visit was seen as a shift in India’s West Asia policy, possibly emboldening Israel.
