Locals grill Modi for failed policies as LPG crisis deepens in IIOJK
Srinagar: Growing concerns over deepening LPG crisis in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have triggered anxiety among residents, who blame the situation on what they describe as the failed policies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Kashmir Media Service, escalating tensions in West Asia have disrupted key supply routes, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, affecting a significant portion of India’s LPG imports. The development has raised fears of reduced availability of cooking gas across the territory.
Locals in the territory have expressed serious concern over the deepening crisis, saying the administration has failed to ensure energy security despite repeated warnings. “This situation is a direct result of Modi’s failed policies. People are being left to suffer due to poor planning and overdependence on external sources,” a resident said.
Locals warned that any disruption in LPG supply could push households toward electric alternatives, placing additional strain on the already fragile power infrastructure in the territory. Occupied Jammu and Kashmir largely depends on power imports, making it vulnerable to sudden surges in demand.
Residents have also voiced fears of prolonged power outages, especially during peak hours, as increased reliance on electricity for cooking could overwhelm the system.
Analysts believe that without immediate contingency measures and infrastructure upgrades, the situation could worsen, further compounding hardships for the people of the territory.
